Sidney Crosby's strange and gross superstition is one you probably wouldn't have ever seen coming

When you look at Sidney Crosby, there's no other way to define his career other than wildly successful. Sid the Kid has three Stanley Cups to his credit, multiple individual awards and also some pretty substantial international accomplishments. He's a generational player and a first-ballot Hall of Famer, there's no question. However, Crosby's primary superstition is both strange and a little disgusting. He's been wearing the same jockstrap since he was a teen.

I guess, as the saying goes, "if it's not broke, don't fix it", but I'm not sure holding onto the same jockstrap and wearing it for 20+ years is something I'd be overly enthused about. Anyone who plays hockey knows how smelly equipment can get. With the miles he has on that thing... It's a pretty gross superstition.
