Arturs Silovs just stole a win for Team Latvia, and the Pittsburgh Penguins goalie is piling on starts when his confidence matters most.

Saturday in Olympic play, Silovs stopped 26 of 29 shots in a 4-3 comeback win over Germany. Latvia needed composure between the pipes and got it.
The setup matters, because it was his second start in as many days after the opener went sideways. Latvia turned to the calmer look, and Silovs delivered.
Now he is right back at it Sunday against Denmark, with Peacock and CNBC carrying the game. That is a quick turnaround, even for a goalie who likes rhythm.
For Penguins eyes, the headline is simple: your guy is playing meaningful hockey in February. That kind of heat can sharpen a season fast.
Here’s the post making the rounds:
Silovs is 24, drafted in 2019 in the sixth round by the Vancouver Canucks. Pittsburgh is watching him grow up in real time.
He has already logged 26 starts for the Penguins this season, sitting at 11-7-8 with a 2.93 GAA and .896 save percentage.

Arturs Silovs gives the Pittsburgh Penguins real belief

Penguins fans have been begging for steady saves, so seeing Silovs look this calm in a pressure tournament feels like oxygen.
What I like is how quiet his game gets when the puck swings low to high. He stays set, beats passes, and makes shooters finish.
That matters for Pittsburgh’s blue line, because it encourages cleaner gaps instead of panic retreats. Your D can play to sticks, not to fear.
The Penguins are 29-15-12 right now, and they are getting points with structure, not chaos. Reliable goaltending keeps that identity intact.
Latvia facing Denmark is also a great test of focus. Silovs cannot ride emotion, he has to manage the “should win” game.
If he looks sharp again Sunday, it is another little deposit in the trust bank before the next Penguins stretch run.
