Deal with Devils falls apart, Jonathan Marchessault signs with Predators instead

The deal that would've sent Jonathan Marchessault to the New Jersey Devils fell apart, he's signed elsewhere In the western conference

Earlier today, it was reported that Jonathan Marchessault Would sign with the New Jersey Devils at the opening of free agency. It appears that that deal has fallen apart, and he decided to take his talents elsewhere.

According to insider Pierre LeBrrun Marchessault Has signed a five-year deal with the Nashville Predators worth an average annual value of $5.5 million.

If the Predators can finalize things with Jonathan Marchessault, hearing his deal with Nashville will be five years and around $5.5 M AAV per season

Marchessault, 33, Appeared in all 82 games for the Vegas Golden Knights last season he collected a total of 69 points including 42. Goals and adding 27 assists.

Marchessault Has proof he still has offensive upside to his game even at 33 in the latter stages of his career and could help out the predators offensively, especially if he find some chemistry with Steven Stamkos

Will have to wait and see what happens during the rest of the day, but the Nashville Predators are making moves to pull away from their competition in the Western Conference.

Update: along with a busy day, the Predators have also signed defender Brady Skjei to a 7 year deal worth 7m annually

As reported earlier but now a done deal, Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault and Brady Skjei all agree to terms in Nashville.

Marchessault, 5 years x $5.5 M AAV
Brady Skjei, 7 years x $7 M AAV
