Hockey community mourns the tragic loss of a promising young player

We are sad to announce the tragic loss of Tyler Gagne, who was an important part of the Alliston and hockey communities. Tyler lost his life in a fatal crash.

Tyler was more than just another talented player; he was someone who led by example and touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was part of the Essa Eagles U18B Rep team and was also a player for TNT in his local community.

Tyler's passion for ice hockey was reflected in each and every game that he participated in. His fellow teammates and coaches valued how devoted he was and his passion for the sport.

Tyler had an infectious team spirit that he carried with him to the ice each and every single day. In memory of him, his jersey number '41' will be displayed on the helmets of the Essa Eagles U18B team during the entire 2025-26 season.

Besides hockey, Tyler was admired and cherished for his humility, sense of humor, and generous qualities that made him such an inspiration to all around him.

His passing has left such an enormous void that his family and even his teammates, and his friends are still trying to come to terms with. The whole town of Alliston mourns his passing.
