Ken Holland no longer with the Edmonton Oilers
Two days following game seven of the Stanley Cup Final, an insider general manager of the Edmonton Oilers has revealed that Ken Holland is departing the team.
Just two days after losing to the Florida Panthers in game seven of the Stanley Cup final, it sounded like the Edmonton Oilers were going to make some big moves, but I don't think anyone saw this coming.
Darren Dreger, Ken Holland's general manager of the Oilers, is reportedly quitting the company, according to TSN. Although there had been no formal announcement up to this point, there had been rumors that he would be joining another front office; this now opens that door.
Holland wanted to move on to the next challenge because his contract was about to end, according to Dreger.
Holland signed a five-year contract on May 7, 2019, and has been the general manager and president of hockey operations of the Edmonton Oilers ever then.
It appears as though the Edmonton Oilers may soon be forcing a change.
