Just minutes into the game, Darnell Nurse tags Sam Bennet with a dubious knee-on-knee hit that prompts the referees to review it.

It seemed inevitable that the fourth game between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers would heat up, but I don't think anyone anticipated how quickly.

Oilers defender Darnell Nurse is sent to the box minutes into the first quarter for what appears to be a knee-on-knee check on Panthers forward Sam Bennett.

Following a brief review, the nurse's five-minute major punishment was reduced to a two-minute minor.

The officials' capacity to analyze plays such as this is fantastic. After rewatching the play, I believe they made the right decision. However, things could have gone either way.
When you don't have the opposing player set up correctly and you try for the big hit in the neutral zone, this is what happens. In my opinion, this was the correct decision; in any case, it was a filthy hit.

The Oilers are ahead of the Panthers 3-1 at this point in the first period.
