Trade talks are really heating up for top Blues winger Jordan Kyrou, and it seems like the Pittsburgh Penguins could be a frontrunner and a good fit for him.

Shortly after Jordan Kyrou signed an eight-year, $65 million contract with the St. Louis Blues in 2022, some fans began wondering whether he'd be dealt before his full no-trade clause went into effect July 1, 2025, which is merely a few days away.
This date might present a deadline for a decision on whether to move Kyrou before the power gets transferred over to him. The Blues know firsthand what it's like to have a deal rejected because of a NTC.
Earlier this week, Blues general manager Doug Armstrong was speaking in general terms about how much he analyzes a player's role and future with the team when deciding whether to trade him before his no-trade clause officially kicks in.
While that could be true, it could also be a front while the Blues continue to have conversations with NHL teams about the trade possibility.

Kyrou is #2 on Frank Seravalli's trade bait board

Wednesday, Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli listed Kyrou as the number 2 player on his trade target board, truly showing how much he's coveted.
Kyle Dubas and the Pittsburgh Penguins could be seen as a perfect fit for Kyrou as he is a young player with tremendous upside, and can come in and really take over, especially with some of the veteran players hitting their twilight years.
Kyrou has proved to be a very consistent offensive performer with a team-leading 150 goals since the 2018-19 season. He also improved his all-around game last season, finishing with a team-best rating of plus-23.
Kyrou's $8.125 million AAV is quite team-friendly, and it's only going to look more attractive now that he has a whopping six years left on the deal and the NHL salary cap is expected to jump all the way up to $113 million in three years.
