Blockbuster trade set to happen involving three-team trade

According to a report from Eklund of Hockey Buzz, there's speculation of trade discussions involving the Islanders and Canadiens, with hints of the Boston Bruins involvement.

The central figure in this rumored deal is the Canucks' Connor Garland, whom Vancouver has expressed their willingness to move. Montreal appears to be in a position to facilitate the trade, much like their role in this summer's blockbuster Karlsson deal.

Adding intrigue to this potential trade, Vancouver has reportedly granted Conor Garland permission to explore discussions with other teams.



The Canucks, facing cap constraints, are looking for potential solutions that would align with their rebuilding efforts. Garland, a talented young forward, has been productive for the Canucks, with 46 and 52 points in the last two seasons.

His $4.5 million cap hit has been a hindrance in moving him, but the Canadiens' ability to place Kirby Dach on LTIR might provide the leverage needed to strike a deal that benefits both sides.
