St. Louis Blues pay to ditch Kevin Hayes a year after trading for him

Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward Kevin Hayes and a second-round pick in the 2025 NHL draft for future considerations
The 32 year old, scored 13 goals and 29 points in 79 games with the Blues last season, his first with the franchise. Hayes is signed for two more seasons, carrying a cap hit of $3,571,429.
Hayes has played 713 NHL regular season games scoring 168 goals and 414 points. He has suited up for the New York Rangers, Winnipeg Jets, Philadelphia Flyers and Blues during his career.
