Casey Mittelstadt the latest Bruin to be included in trade rumours
Casey Mittelstadt was one player acquired by Boston in their selling spree last season when they traded Charlie Coyle to the Colorado Avalanche, with the veteran centre traded for the second time in the past few years.
In 18 games with the Bruins, Mittelstadt showed promise, tallying 4 goals and 6 points in that time, and while he's yet to consistently find his best at the NHL level, he certainly has plenty of potential.
Jimmy Murphy reveals trade interest in Mittelstadt
According to Jimmy Murphy of RGMedia, NHL executives have been hearing Mittelstadt's name in trade rumours, with many revealing that the team weren't originally targeting Mittelstadt, with the other pieces in the deal being their focus.
"I don't know how many rumors he's been in, but I've been hearing [Casey] Mittelstadt could be on the move again since before the Bruins season even ended. There was a common feeling that he wasn't their main target when they traded for him; Zellers and the second-round draft pick were."
Ultimately, it makes sense for a team that's looking add depth down the middle to contend moving forward to target a player like Mittelstadt, and with Boston looking to the future, don't be surprised to hear his name in more speculation moving forward.
