The former Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Conor Timmins is far from reaching a deal with his new team, the Sabres, according to a new report by The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta.

Timmins, who was traded to Buffalo earlier this offseason in a deal that sent Connor Clifton and a second-round pick to Pittsburgh, is now at the center of a contract dispute. The restricted free agent is reportedly not close to signing, and arbitration appears to be the next step.
According to Pagnotta, there hasn't been any traction between both camps, suggesting that a resolution isn't imminent.
The 26-year-old defenseman is coming off a difficult season that saw him suit up for two teams: he played 51 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs and another 17 with the Penguins following his trade. In total, he recorded 15 points and scored three goals in 68 games, a career-high.
With arbitration hearings fast approaching, the Sabres don't have a lot of time to reach a deal before a neutral arbitrator intervenes, as the hearing for Timmins is scheduled for August 2.
PuckPedia released the full list of pending hearings, which includes:
Arvid Soderblom (Chicago Blackhawks) - July 28
Maksim Tsyplakov (New York Islanders) - July 29
Dylan Samberg (Winnipeg Jets) - July 30
Conor Timmins (Buffalo Sabres) - August 2
Nicholas Robertson (Toronto Maple Leafs) - August 3
Jayden Struble (Montreal Canadiens) - August 3

This reflects Buffalo's ongoing struggles to keep players committed long-term. In recent months, several of their key assets have surfaced in trade talks or expressed reluctance to remain with the organization.
Timmins' case will be one to watch-not only for how it resolves, but for what it signals about Buffalo's ability to attract and retain talent moving forward.
