Ben Chiarot of the Detroit Red Wings found himself in a tough spot during the first period, visibly frustrated by the unfolding events.

In a showdown against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, Chiarot narrowly avoided a penalty as he aggressively targeted Sabres forward Jordan Greenway. It was only thanks to linesman Ben O'Quinn's intervention that Chiarot's actions didn't escalate further.

Feeling the pressure of his team's seven-game losing streak and trailing 1-0, Chiarot had reached his boiling point early in the game. He decided to take matters into his own hands after a break in play, directing his frustration towards Greenway. Despite Greenway's dismissive response to Chiarot's attempts to provoke him, the Red Wings player was ready to engage in a physical altercation.

Chiarot threw a punch at Greenway, catching him off guard, but O'Quinn swiftly intervened, preventing any harm from being done.

Remarkably, no penalties were issued following the incident.
