Former Penguin Tristan Jarry got injured last night when the Oilers played the Bruins, and he has flown back to Edmonton to get evaluated and will miss time.

The Edmonton Oilers will evaluate goaltender Tristan Jarry in Edmonton after he left Thursday's 3-1 win over the Boston Bruins with a lower-body injury.
Whatever might be the outcome, it goes without saying that this development is a bit of a worry for this team, especially with Jarry having contributed so much lately to their success with wins that keep their momentum going.

Details of how Tristan Jarry suffered his injury

Jarry skated off with an injury he suffered while sliding across the crease late in the second period, making 12 saves on 13 shots before he was relieved by Calvin Pickard, who made all 12 saves he faced vs. the Bruins.
Traded from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Dec. 12 along with forward Sam Poulin, Jarry had started off on a positive note with his new team, going 3-0-0 in his first three outings with an .887 save percentage and a 3.08 goals-against average.
In 14 games with Pittsburgh this season, he carried a .909 save percentage with a 2.66 goals-against average.

Why Calvin Pickard may not be the answer for the Oilers

It is likely that Pickard will be on the ice for the Oilers this Saturday as they conclude their five-game road trip against the Minnesota Wild. The 33-year-old goalie has a current record of 3-4-2 with a save percentage of .858 and a GAA of 3.91.
Connor Ingram was also recalled today from the AHL and could see action, too, depending on how long Jarry will be out.
The Oilers are third within the Pacific Division with a record of 17-12-6 and are only two points behind both the Vegas Golden Knights and Anaheim Ducks.
Update: The Oilers have placed Jarry on injured reserve and Jack Roslovic on LTIR.
