Division Rival Steals Winnipeg Jets Defenceman Off Waivers
The Winnipeg Jets are now down a key player on the blue line.
As per a report from NHL insider
Elliotte Friedman, defenseman
Declan Chisholm has been lost by the Jets after being placed on waivers on Sunday.
Adding to the blow, Chisholm has been scooped up by a division rival, the Minnesota Wild.
Chisholm, a 24-year-old who was a 5th round pick (150th overall) in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by the Jets, struggled to secure a consistent spot in the NHL lineup.
Despite this, there's a belief among many that Chisholm has the potential to be an NHL-level defenseman, and it seems the Wild share that perspective.
For Chisholm, this could open the door to an NHL opportunity that eluded him during his time with the Winnipeg Jets.
