Marc-André Fleury Honored with Heartfelt Tribute from Sidney Crosby and NHL Peers

After debuting back in the 2003/04 season, Marc-Andre Fleury's career has now come to an end after the Minnesota Wild were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs after a Game 6 defeat from his former team, the Vegas Golden Knights.

Immediately after the game, the NHL took to social media to pay tribute to one of the brightest personalities the game has ever seen, with some highlights of his career both on and off the ice.

While he went on to play with Vegas, Chicago and ultimately Minnesota, he'll most be remembered for his time in Pittsburgh where he helped the team to three Stanley Cups, and after it all came to an end, the team also paid tribute to him on social media.

Not to be outdone, the NHL also posted another video after Game 6, with stars such as Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid and Jeremy Swayman among others coming together to talk about the influence that Fleury has had on the next generation coming through and what an inspiration he's been both on and off the ice throughout his career.

The video shows just how much No. 29 has commanded over his 22 year career that resulted in an incredible 575 wins, and with the pranks off the ice becoming legendary, it's safe to say we may not see a personality like him in the NHL for a long time to come.

Ultimately, Fleury will go down in NHL history as an all-time great as he ranks near the top of many leaderboards among goaltenders in league history while also winning three Cups and a Vezina Trophy, but now, everyone will wait and see what the 40-year old is going to be up too next.
