We have a new record holder in the NHL, as Marc-Andre Fleury has now won 70 games in overtime, officially passing NHL legend Martin Brodeur.

Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury achieved yet another milestone in his illustrious career on Wednesday evening, further cementing his already strong Hall of Fame resume.
Before the game started, the moment began with Fleury's kids skating on to the ice and standing by his side during the anthems.
In possibly his last home start, Fleury broke the NHL record for most overtime wins by a goaltender, earning his 70th, in a wild 8-7 shootout win against the San Jose Sharks, officially passing NHL legend Martin Brodeur.
"Oh man, jeez. Ups and downs in the game," Fleury said. "As a goalie, those aren't the most fun games to play. But what matters-two points at the end, right? We'll take them, that's for sure."
Even though he allowed seven goals on 31 shots, Fleury made enough crucial saves to get the victory after Kirill Kaprizov, who returned from injury, netted the game-winner in overtime at Xcel Energy Center.
At 40, Fleury is 13-9-1 this season with a 2.78 goals-against average and a .897 save percentage. In his career, he has 574 victories in 1,049 games, second all-time to Martin Brodeur in victories and games played.

Joel Eriksson Ek helped Fleury out by scoring a whopping four goals

The game itself was electric as it was emotional. Joel Eriksson Ek had four goals for the Wild, and Kaprizov added two of his own.
On the other end, Sharks rookie Macklin Celebrini had his breakout game, scoring five points, including his first career hat trick and two assists.
By the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign, his final one in the NHL, Fleury will have finished a season with more victories than defeats for the 19th time in his career.
This will have him ranking second all-time among most winning seasons by a goaltender in league history behind only Brodeur, who has 20.
