Tristan Jarry's 2024/25 season has been a rollercoaster, but after a recent stellar performance, he opened up on one of the best games of the season for him.
The goaltending of the Pittsburgh Penguins this season has been beyond dreadful, and whether it's
Alex Nedeljkovic, Tristan Jarry or
Joel Blomqvist, they've struggled to get consistent performances in net all year long.
The biggest struggle however has come from veteran Tristan Jarry, who many believe the team will look to buyout or attach to a trade with another valuable asset to move his contract in the summer, as he has posted a 3.13 GAA and an .896 save percentage on the year.
However, in the teams win over the Chicago Blackhawks, No. 35 starred, stopping all 26 shots he saw as the offense was rolling too en route to the dominant 5-0 home victory.
Despite the fact that the season is over for the Penguins, that didn't stop Jarry from being excited after the win, crediting his entire team for the bounce back victory to pick up the huge win on home ice.
"First and foremost, we had a good bounce-back game. I think Chicago played well in their building and we were able to play well in ours.
I thought the guys were doing a really good job tonight just letting me see the puck and giving me the shots that I needed. I think it really helps me when I'm able to get into it early like that.»
At this point, it's unclear whether or not the Penguins will want to go through with moving on from Jarry after seeing performances like this and considering how much it could cost them, but given the way he's handled himself throughout all these struggles, he's gained plenty of respect and could be valuable to Pittsburgh or whichever team he ends up on moving forward.
