Former Penguins 1st Rounder Brayden Yager Humiliated by Canadiens' Ivan Demidov

Brayden Yager, who was a former 1st round pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins, was humiliated on Saturday night in a prospects game by Montreal's Ivan Demidov.
Montreal Canadiens fans were wowed by forward Ivan Demidov, who will still be considered a rookie if he makes the team this year despite getting in several games of NHL experience last season.
He was part of the Habs' prospect game against the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday and may as well have broken the ankles of former Pittsburgh Penguins 1st round pick Brayden Yager, who is now with Winnipeg.

Last August, Yager was traded by the Penguins to the Jets for the rights to prospect Rutger McGroarty.

Laval Rocket head coach Pascal Vincent was in charge of the Canadiens on Saturday, and he said that the crowd always got louder in anticipation whenever Demidov was anywhere near the puck.
Every time you send (Demidov) on the ice, you get the impression something's going to happen. And something does happen, and we get a chance to score. We had a lot of chances to score tonight, and he was responsible for the majority of them. What he can do on the ice isn't luck. He's a guy who's worked on his game.

Demidov was taken 5th overall in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft by the Canadiens and played 2 games last season, and he was also on the roster for their ECQF series against the Washington Capitals.
