Former Penguin and Team USA GM Bill Guerin Throws Adam Fox Under the Bus With New Comments

Team USA, like every other nation competing in the 2026 Olympic Games announced the first six players on their roster for the tournament on Monday, with some very surprising announcements.

When this happened for the Four Nations, New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox was one of the six players on Team USA's roster, but this time around, he was replaced by Brady Tkachuk, who stole the show at the Four Nations Face Off with Team USA.

That move wasn't too surprising, as Fox is still likely to be on the roster by the time the 2026 Olympic Games rolls around, but after the supposed snub, Team USA General Manager Bill Guerin threw him under the bus with some shocking comments.

Fox certainly had an underwhelming season for the Rangers despite tallying 10 goals and 61 points on the year, but when other players stepped up around him on the international stage, it certainly caught the attention of everyone with Team USA.

Given that Fox will almost certainly be one of the defenseman taken to Italy for the Olympic Games, it's shocking and confusing as to why Guerin would make these comments, although he's potentially hoping it could spark Fox to step up in a big way at that tournament.

Ultimately, Fox is one of the best blue liners in the NHL when he's at his best, with these comments showing just what a high standard he's held too, and if he gets motivated from these comments, don't be shocked to see a bounce back campaign before the Olympics.
