York was taken by the Flyers with the 14th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft after he played for Shattuck-St. Mary's and for the U.S. National Development Program.
After being selected by the Flyers, York played for the NCAA's University of Michigan Wolverines and led all Big Ten in defensive scoring with 20 points (4G, 16A). He was also named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Big Ten.
He managed 30 points (10G, 20A) in 2023-24, which was his new career-best. This year, York was limited to 66 games and had 17 points (4G, 13A).
York has 77 points (19G, 58A) in 235 career NHL games played, all with the Flyers. At 24 years old, he's set to enter his prime right as his new extension kicks in.
