Analysts Project 3 Penguins Prospects Will Be Ready for Full-Time NHL Roles in 2025

The Pittsburgh Penguins rebuild is well and truly on, and while most fans are looking to the future with the assets that Kyle Dubas has acquired, the General Manager has already significantly improved the prospect pool.

They'll continue to do so when the likes of Erik Karlsson, Bryan Rust and Rickard Rakell are traded, but heading into the 2025/26 season, there are several players that can establish themselves full-time in the National Hockey League.

In their latest piece on the Penguins, PensLabyrinth have taken a shot at naming three players that are ready for the NHL this season, naming Owen Pickering, Rutger McGroarty and Ville Koivunen as pieces of the future that fans should see a lot of this year.

The latter two saw their way to the NHL this past season, each playing in 8 games to end the season, but it was Pickering on the blue line that got the best shot with the top club, appearing in 24 games throughout the season, showing immense promise in that time.

There's still expectations for Pittsburgh to keep adding young players of the future, but this first wave will have a key impact on the future of the team, and if all three can become successful NHLers, it paves the way for the likes of Harrison Brunicke, Ben Kindel and others to find success as they move towards a new era.

Only time will tell how many of the current prospects and picks this team own will turn into key pieces for the Penguins at the top level, but if these three can start things well in 2025/26, the outlook on the future in Pittsburgh becomes much more promising.
