Connor McDavid on Crosby: "It's Special For All of Us" to Share the Ice
Sidney Crosby has been a star in the NHL for a long time, and when speaking to the media, Connor McDavid confirmed how special it was to play with Captain Canada.
For over 16 years, Sidney Crosby has been the face of hockey in Canada, and after the golden goal back in 2010, he will live on forever as arguably the most iconic player to ever represent the country.
Ahead of 2026, he's still going strong after another incredible campaign in Pittsburgh, as he's set to lead Canada into the 2026 Olympic Games as captain, an honour that isn't lost on the Penguins superstar.
Why McDavid Calls Crosby's Presence a Defining Moment
Now, in a recent interview, Connor McDavid has opened up on how special it is to play alongside Crosby, with the games best player revealing how much it means to lace up his skates next to the Penguins captain.
:There's no shortage of what Sid means to me, I think that's been well-documented. Obviously, growing up watching Sid and idolizing him, and seeing him score that goal... You know, he's cut from the '06 team, then in '10, he scores that goal, and then you see him captain the '14 team. So, for our generation, for him to still be here and being the captain and still playing a massive role it's special. It's special for all of us."

However, it's clear Crosby isn't just there to be a leader, as he can still be among the best players in the NHL, and with McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon also in the top-six, this may be the most loaded top two lines in hockey history.
Crosby has hinted that he's not done at the international level even after this tournament, but if this is his final Olympics, given how many stars are around him on this team, it's safe to say Canada heads into the tournament optimistic for Olympic Gold once again.
