Penguins goalie Arturs Silovs wasn't too happy that a whistle wasn't blown when he held on to the puck for a decent amount of time, which led to Tampa's goal.

On Tuesday night, the Tampa Bay Lightning continued their winning momentum, extending their undefeated streak to 11 victories by taking a 2-1 shootout victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena.

Erik Karlsson will miss quite a bit of action

Pittsburgh went without Erik Karlsson, who sat out and will miss at least the next two weeks with a lower-body injury.
Jack St. Ivany took his place with Parker Wotherspoon in practice, with the first line seeing some changes as Brett Kulak and Kris Letang were bumped up in place of Karlsson.
While it took a team effort to replace Karlsson, the Penguins maintained their structure in the defensive end by shutting down Tampa's offensive power.
The goaltenders, Arturs Silovs of Pittsburgh and Andrei Vasilevskiy of Tampa, both played well in the first 40 minutes of play.
The Penguins had three power play opportunities that they weren't able to convert, thanks mostly in part to Vasilevskiy's effective goaltending.

What caused Arturs Silovs to call out the referees

Silovs was visibly unhappy with a non-call on a prolonged hold of the puck, which resulted in a Tampa goal via J.J. Moser with less than seven minutes remaining in play.
Pittsburgh answered late, as Evgeni Malkin tied it up with the goalie pulled, sending the game into overtime. The Pens rushed the puck hard in overtime, getting a breakaway opportunity when Bryan Rust broke away, but Vasilevskiy was rock-solid.
In the shootout, Egor Chinakhov got the opening goal for Pittsburgh, but Tampa's Gage Goncalves and Nikita Kucherov got the better of Silovs, securing the victory for the Lightning.
However, even while falling short, the Penguins have displayed strong defensive prowess. They will reconvene at practice on Wednesday, looking ahead to a match on Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers at PPG Paints Arena.
