Penguins head coach Dan Muse has decided to bench both Harrison Brunicke and Ben Kindel tonight, and Arturs Silovs will get the start in goal.

Penguins head coach Dan Muse has revealed that both Ben Kindel and Harrison Brunicke are out tonight, which is all part of the Penguins' plan for the two teenagers. Muse also revealed that Arturs Silovs will start vs. the Blue Jackets.
"We're looking at what's best for them now, but also for them to continue to grow over the course of the season," Muse said of Brunicke and Kindel. "So there will be times throughout the start of the year where they're coming out of the lineup."
Fans no doubt won't be too happy that they won't get to see either teenager tonight, but it is all part of Kyle Dubas' bold new plan he has to develop young players in the NHL.
The Penguins might not come out and say it, but part of the thinking has to be that this buys Kyle Dubas and his staff more time to make tough decisions on the roster, as once both teenagers hit the 10-game mark, it burns a year off their entry-level deal.

A roster spot would need to be cleared if either Ben Kindel or Harrison Brunicke stick around for the rest of the season

If one or both of Brunicke and Kindel end up sticking around in Pittsburgh beyond nine games, then it means the Penguins would need to clear a roster spot, possibly two, when forwards Kevin Hayes and Rutger McGroarty come off injured reserve.
The Penguins will also be without Caleb Jones tonight, as he is expected to miss about eight weeks with a lower-body injury. He got injured in the third period of Thursday's win, and the incident took place in a corner involving Brad Marchand.
Puck drop is set for just after 7 PM ET tonight, and prior to the game, there will be the Hall of Fame ceremony taking place, which will induct several Penguins legends.
