Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Dan Muse revealed what his first impressions were of goaltender Stuart Skinner after he was acquired from the Edmonton Oilers last week in the blockbuster deal involving Tristan Jarry.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have completely overhauled their goaltending in recent months, starting by trading Alex Nedeljkovic to the San Jose Sharks over the summer while also acquiring Arturs Silovs from the Vancouver Canucks.
And just last week, they traded Tristan Jarry to the Edmonton Oilers with Sam Poulin for Stuart Skinner and Brett Kulak.
Coincidentally, Skinner's first game in a Penguins sweater came against the Oilers, and he allowed five goals in a 6-4 loss.
Penguins head coach Dan Muse, who is in his first year behind the bench, said that his first impression of Skinner is that he's living up to his reputation of being a great teammate.
You hear from people around the league... talking about how great of a person he is, how great of a teammate he is... he's definitely lived up to that reputation. - Dan Muse

Penguins Goalie Stuart Skinner Is A Pending UFA With No Contract Beyond This Year

The Oilers decided that they were not able to wait until Skinner discovered any kind of consistency that would make management comfortable with trusting him to be in net for another lengthy postseason run.
Even though Skinner has made back to back appearances in the Stanley Cup Final, he showed flashes of brilliance followed by flashes of brutal play, and he was never able to put together consistent wins this year.
He's a pending UFA at the end of the season, just like his now ex-teammate Calvin Pickard with the Oilers.
Not only will Skinner be attempting to show that he can still play at hockey's highest level, but he'll be trying to earn a new contract to prolong his career with either the Penguins or another team.
