The numbers that goaltender Stuart Skinner has posted since he was acquired by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Tristan Jarry trade are hard to look at after last night's 6-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

It was earlier in the month that the Pittsburgh Penguins and Edmonton Oilers made a major trade with one another. Pittsburgh traded Tristan Jarry and Sam Poulin to the Oilers, who sent Stuart Skinner and Brett Kulak to them in return.
And so far, the numbers of Skinner since joining the Penguins are just not encouraging at all.
Skinner, who has struggled with consistency for most of his career despite appearing twice in a row in the Stanley Cup Final in an Oilers sweater, is 0-3 in the three starts he's made in a Penguins sweater.
Even worse are his stats, as he has a 4.18 GAA and a .831 SV%.
Ironically, Skinner's first start in a Penguins sweater was against the Oilers, and he allowed five goals in a 6-4 loss.
Last night against the Maple Leafs, who had lost three in a row, Skinner allowed four goals on 29 shots.
These kinds of numbers just are not going to get it done, especially for a goalie who is a pending UFA at the end of the season and is playing for a new contract.

Tristan Jarry Was Hurt Just Three Games Into His Tenure With Edmonton

At the same time, the Oilers are experiencing their own problems with Jarry, but health related.
Jarry was hurt during a recent game against the Boston Bruins, and it was confirmed that he's going to miss several weeks with rehabilitation.
O)only time will tell if the acquisition of Jarry from the Penguins will pay off for the Oilers, who are the two time defending Western Conference champions.
