The Pittsburgh Penguins have different ways they could go this summer, but now another insider has confirmed that they'll be the biggest seller in the NHL.
After the Florida Panthers wrapped up the Stanley Cup on Tuesday night, the NHL off-season is officially upon us, with most teams around the league looking to get better in what is set to be a chaotic summer for the NHL.
Even the worst teams in the NHL like San Jose and Chicago will be looking to improve with plenty of talent available via trade, free agency and the dreaded offer sheet, all except for one.
According to recent reports, the Pittsburgh Penguins are set to be the only true seller in the NHL this off-season, and on the latest episode of the 32 Thoughts podcast, the NHL's biggest insider has confirmed the news.
"Everybody in the league is trying to get better basically except for Pittsburgh."
While the team still have arguably the best captain in the league in
Sidney Crosby, the future beyond that isn't looking too bright, and while the team could look to buy to capitalize on his final few years in the league, Kyle Dubas needs to find talent for the future.
It's unclear if all of them will be moved, but one thing is for sure and that is that the Penguins likely aren't going to be buyers in any trade this summer, unless it's a player under 23-years of age, with all expectations being that they'll sell off some big names talents in the off-season.
