Erik Karlsson to Toronto: Former Maple Leaf & NHL Analyst Approves Trade Proposal

Former Maple Leafs forward Jay Rosehill fully endorsed a proposed trade that would have Erik Karlsson sent to Toronto from the Pittsburgh Penguins in return for a pair of players.
Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Jay Rosehill, who is now an analyst on the Leafs Morning Take podcast, is fully on board with a major trade proposal that would bring an end to the Erik Karlsson trade drama with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
A fan proposed that the Maple Leafs trade defenseman Morgan Rielly and forward Nick Robertson to the Penguins for Karlsson, and Jay Rosehill said he would make that deal "all day".
I take that all day. We're trying to get rid of Nick Robertson in general, where does he fit? Whose spot is he taking? I just don't think he's going to be here, and Morgan Rielly has stalled.
Makes $7.5-million, doesn't produce like he used to; sometimes has some brain-dead stuff going on in the D-zone. Not trying to knock him but he's not the player he used to be in the past.
To get the upside of Erik Karlsson, and someone who can quarterback a PP and run the offense like Karlsson has done in the past, all his accomplishments he would be great, but I don't think anyone is really going to take that trade.

Rielly still has 5 years left on his contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $7,500,000, while the Leafs recently re-signed Robertson, who was an RFA, to a 1 year deal.
Erik Karlsson has been on the trade block for weeks
The Pittsburgh Penguins are said to be trying to trade not only forwards Bryan Rust and Rickard Rakell, but also Karlsson.
Karlsson's hefty $11.5 million AAV naturally makes him difficult to move, even if the Penguins were to retain some of his salary.
Karlsson has been linked to a number of teams in recent weeks but no deal has yet materialized.
