Former Penguins Goaltender Leaves His Club in Europe After Just 11 Games

Former Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Louis Domingue, who was put into the starting role in the 2022 playoffs, is once again a free agent after leaving his KHL team.
It's been three years since the Pittsburgh Penguins last made the playoffs, which is now the longest drought in the careers of longtime franchise icons like
Sidney Crosby,
Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang.
Domingue played last year under contract with the New York Rangers and had a dismal 7-20-1 record with their AHL affiliate Hartford Wolf Pack. He signed in the KHL with Sibir Novosibirsk, but has now left the team.
The team released a statement saying that he's
departing the team because of family reasons and that they wish him luck in the future.
Louis Domingue is leaving Sibir due to family reasons.
The goalkeeper has one win for our team, playing a total of 11 matches.
We thank Louis for his work and wish him success in his future career!
Louis Domingue Is Once Again Up For Grabs
Domingue was taken with the 138th overall pick by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, and would play the first several years of his career in a Coyotes sweater before being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
He would be a journeyman over the next several years and play for multiple teams including the Calgary Flames, New Jersey Devils, Vancouver Canucks, Penguins and Rangers.
