The Penguins are looking to make another goalie trade this off-season, but according to Josh Yohe, there isn't much interest in veteran Tristan Jarry.
There has been plenty of speculation around the Pittsburgh Penguins this off-season, and while they were expected to be very busy sellers, thus far we've seen very little movement from them.
A lack of trade interest could force Pittsburgh to enter the season with an unsettled goalie situation
On the latest episode of
The Athletic Hockey Show, top Penguins Insider Josh Yohe has reaffirmed the belief that Jarry is likely to remain in Pittsburgh moving forward, noting that there has been very little interest in him around the league.
I'd still say there's a 75%-80% chance he's on this team on opening night; they're certainly willing to move him; I haven't heard of any teams being interested.
Unfortunately for Penguins fans looking to see a third goaltender trade this summer, with the money that Jarry is owed, there's little interest around the NHL in acquiring him, with Yohe putting it at a 75-80% chance that he'll be on the roster opening night, and will likely be in net for that one.
Ultimately, the team committed to Jarry long-term when they signed him to an extension, and it's more likely than not that he'll have to play that contract out in Pittsburgh, but with a group of young goaltenders pushing their way to the NHL, we could see a blockbuster move made one day, just likely not this off-season.
