Insider Reveals Two Penguins Likely to Be Traded This Summer

Over the past few weeks, the Pittsburgh Penguins have moved Anthony Beauvillier, Luke Schenn, Michael Bunting and Vincent Desharnais among other names, and over the off-season, they are expected to gauge interest in their remaining players too.

The two most popular names that show up are Tristan Jarry and Erik Karlsson, and now, Josh Yohe of The Athletic has noted the likelihood of both players being traded in the summer.

The way these two players are likely to move is different however, as Jarry will either be a buyout or a salary cap dump in a trade, and given how few teams around the league are in the financial position to do that, Dubas will potentially need to part with an asset to free up that cap space.

Then there is Karlsson, who has continued to be a solid performer despite the lofty contract that he's playing on, but if the team can retain, there's certainly teams out there that would see the value in landing a three-time Norris Trophy winner, even if he is well past his prime.

Ultimately, with so many draft picks, Kyle Dubas and the front office can certainly play things in several different ways over the next few months, but if they play their cards right, there's a way to get out of some bad deals and make yourself competitive in the very near future for Pittsburgh, and moving these two should be a top priority to getting that done.
