Penguins analyst Josh Yohe of The Athletic has seemingly confirmed what the trade intentions of captain Sidney Crosby are as he continues to be involved in rumours.

Even though it seemed unthinkable as recently as last year, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is involved in trade rumours.
The Penguins are not expected to come close to competing for the playoffs this year, which would mark the 4th straight year of missing the postseason; it's the longest drought of Crosby's NHL career, as well as that of longtime teammates Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang.
Plenty of teams would welcome a trade of Crosby, even at 38.
Penguins analyst Josh Yohe recently stated that he doesn't believe that a trade will happen, but leaves the door open.
Speaking on the other side of this exercise, Pat Brisson's recent comments mean that I can't say that there is no chance Crosby will ever be traded. Still, it's very unlikely. He is surely frustrated by the state of the Penguins, but his loyalty runs deeper than people realize.
At the same time, it looks more and more like Crosby's longtime teammate, Evgeni Malkin, will retire at the end of the year.

Crosby isn't the only Penguins player involved in rumours

In addition to Crosby, multiple other Penguins players are involved in trade rumours as the new season gets closer.
Defenseman Erik Karlsson has been on the trade block for months now, as have forwards Rickard Rakell and Bryan Rust. But Penguins GM Kyle Dubas has not been able to find a deal for any of them.
Even with all 3 players still on the team, the Penguins are still expected to not realistically challenge for the playoffs, which would seemingly make Crosby's desire for a trade grow.
