Kyle Dubas Must Offer Sheet Sabres Star Winger This Summer

This season has not been a promising one for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and given their ageing core, many fans believe that the team could be in for a lengthy rebuild before we see them as a contender again.

However, the front office has indicated that they want to once again build a winner around Sidney Crosby, and to do that, they'll need to make some huge moves in the coming months to succeed in the final few years of their captain.

With immense amounts of draft capital, the belief is that they are willing to trade some pieces to land young, NHL ready players to play around Crosby, and that also indicates they're willing to explore the offer sheet market in the summer.

Now, a report from Carter Hutton has revealed that the Buffalo Sabres will need to give young winger JJ Peterka a major contract upgrade as they look to avoid losing one of their key young pieces as a result of an offer sheet.

At 23-years of age, Peterka could be perfect to play alongside one of the Penguins ageing stars, but given his production and his age, it's safe to say that if Pittsburgh are interested, they'll have significant competition to land the former second round draft pick.
