Kyle Dubas Now Has Chance to Trade Up Into Top-3 of the Draft After Shocking Report From Frank Seravalli

This off-season is a good chance for many teams to reset, and while that means most struggling teams from 2024 will look to upgrade their roster, the Pittsburgh Penguins are one of the only teams in the NHL looking to be active sellers.

That was how TSN's Pierre LeBrun evaluated the Penguins situation heading into the summer, and with very few elite prospects coming through the organization, they will look to rectify that by adding future assets in a solid sellers market.

Now, there's a chance for them to add one of the top names in the market at the 2025 NHL Draft on the back of NHL Insider Frank Seravalli's latest report with just over 10 days until draft night.

According to Seravalli, the Chicago Blackhawks No. 3 overall pick is in play, with the team looking to add a genuine difference maker at the position to support the growth of Connor Bedard, Artyom Levshunov and their young core, and with Pittsburgh having some top names like Bryan Rust and Rickard Rakell as bargaining chips, that could be somewhere they look to make a move.

It's unclear exactly who the Penguins would be willing to give up to get to No. 3, but if they did, one of of Anton Frondell, Michael Misa, James Hagens and Caleb Desnoyers would be available, and with several pieces to move in the summer, the Penguins could make a blockbuster deal happen.
