Mike Sullivan Breaks His Silence on the Penguins' Resurgence Amid a Horrendous Season

After a poor start to the 2024/25 campaign, the Pittsburgh Penguins are rolling all of a sudden, and with victories in four straight games, they now find themselves closing in on the Wild Card race in the Eastern Conference.

That playoff chase only intensified with their 7-3 thrashing of the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night, and with all of their big stars on fire, no one is yet counting the Pittsburgh Penguins out.

With this newfound optimism, Head Coach Mike Sullivan has now addressed a potential playoff push, with the coach and players both clearly brimming with confidence after the victory, with some very winnable games upcoming on the schedule.

Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, even though they've closed the gap somewhat in the Wild Card race, there is still five teams standing between them and the final Wild Card spot, meaning that they'll need to be near perfect to pull off a miracle down the stretch.

Despite all of that, confidence is high, with Sullivan giving the cliche that they are just taking things one game at a time, but if they can do that and continue building their momentum, with no one else dominating and staking their claim to a spot, the Penguins have as good a chance as anyone in the Eastern Conference.
