New Penguins Forward Anthony Mantha Provides Major Update on Injury Status Following Crucial Surgery
New Penguins forward Anthony Mantha revealed that despite having a very crucial surgery, he feels like he will be ready for the start of next season.
The signing was done shortly after the free agency period opened earlier in the month of July.
Anthony Mantha is rebuilding himself after an injury-troubled 2024-25 season, during which a mid-November knee injury limited him to just 13 games with the Calgary Flames.
He logged four goals and three assists before undergoing ACL surgery that sidelined him for the year. Despite the setback, the 30-year-old winger is targeting being ready for training camp and looking forward to bouncing back with the Penguins.
"I should be ready for camp, that's my plan".

Originally drafted 20th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in 2013, Mantha adds 507 games of NHL experience with the Red Wings, Capitals, Golden Knights, and Flames.
Mantha has reached 146 goals and 157 assists for 303 career points, including back-to-back 48-point seasons with Detroit in 2017-18 and 2018-19. Mantha has six points in 14 postseason contests.
Mantha was voted the player of the year during his junior days
Internationally, Mantha was a key asset for Canada at the 2019 IIHF World Championship, collecting 14 points in nine games and helping his team to a silver medal.
He arrives now at a Penguins club looking to rebound from a lackluster 34-36-12 season that kept them 11 points from the playoffs.
Healthy, Mantha could be a depth scorer and veteran leadership asset as Pittsburgh rebuilds for another attempt at the playoffs.
