Jason Robertson is reportedly on the trade block, and according to one analyst, it could lead veteran Erik Karlsson to Long Island.

The NHL rumour mill is in overdrive as of late, and on Monday, reports emerged that the Dallas Stars were shockingly taking calls on young forward Jason Robertson as they look to shake things up this summer.
That's led to many teams and their fans looking into ways to land him, with many believing the New York Islanders, who will likely pick RHD Matthew Schafer with the No. 1 overall pick in the NHL Draft could be a possibility.
The reason why that leads them to Robertson is that they could use defenseman Noah Dobson as a major trade chip to help the Stars bolster a defense that struggled mightily on the right side this season, especially against the Edmonton Oilers in the playoffs.
So how does this relate to the Penguins? According to New York Islanders Hockey Now, the team may need a short-term solution before Schafer is ready to make the leap to the NHL, with Russ Macias predicting that they could target Penguins veteran Erik Karlsson to be that solution.
At this point in time, the Penguins are likely to want out of Karlsson at any cost, and that cost may be taking on a bad contract or two from New York, but in order to move Karlsson, it would no doubt be worth it.
This prediction has many moving parts, and at this point, it's not that likely to happen, but individually, these moves all make sense, so don't be shocked if the Islanders aren't the only team intriguing by Karlsson this summer.
