The Pittsburgh Penguins could look to move some big names this off-season, and in the Ottawa Senators, they may have the perfect trade partner for two forwards.

The 2025 NHL off-season is just weeks away, and with teams looking to jump into contention, the belief around the league is that this could be one of the craziest summers in recent NHL memory.
One team that is looking to take yet another leap forward is the Ottawa Senators, with a recent report from theScore revealing that they are desperate to land a veteran, proven scorer for their top-six.
While Claude Giroux filled that role nicely for the team in recent years, he is a free agent this summer with no guarantee of returning, meaning that this could be the Penguins chance to take advantage.
According to the report, they're seeking a proven veteran to play on the wing alongside Tim Stutzle/Brady Tkachuk or Dylan Cozens/Drake Batherson, and the Penguins have two such players in the form of Bryan Rust and Rickard Rakell.
Both have been linked to trades this summer given that the Penguins are looking to the future and would love to acquire talented prospects, and with the Senators desperate for help to take a leap forward in 2025/26 after breaking their Stanley Cup Playoffs drought, they make sense as a landing spot for either player.
Whether or not they want to land bigger names than Rust or Rakell or indeed cheaper names, only time will tell, but at this point in time, these two teams could help each other in a big way, so don't be surprised if General Managers Kyle Dubas and Steve Staios talk at some point this off-season.
