NHL Insider Reveals the Asking Price for Multiple Penguins Veterans on the Trade Market
Today, NHL insider David Pagnotta has confirmed the asking price from Kyle Dubas and the Penguins for veterans Bryan Rust and Rickard Rakell.
Despite the strong start, the Penguins are likely to come back down to earth and be sellers at the NHL Trade deadline in a couple of months.
With the Penguins expected to offload a couple of veteran players for future assets NHL insider David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period has predicted what it will take for Kyle Dubas to part with those veterans.
NHL Insider Confirms the Asking Price For Penguins Veterans
According to Pagnotta's sources Dubas and the Penguins will likely ask for multiple assets for any of their veterans.
A trade would likely include a first-round pick, top prospect, and a roster player in exchange for one of Rust or Rakell.
Rakell and Rust are both coming off of career years in Pittsburgh and have been a key part of the Penguins early success this season cementing their trade value as some of the best players currently available to be had.
This is a steep price set by the Penguins that could change based on other trades made throughout the year but the Penguins are one of the clear selling teams which means they can essentially set the market for the time being.
As the deadline gets closer, the Penguins risk having to trade their veterans for a cheaper price but keeping them around could allow Pittsburgh to push for an unexpected playoff spot.
