Kyle Dubas has been busy at the draft tonight as he just completed his second trade of the night, this time moving down in a deal with the LA Kings.
The Pittsburgh Penguins came into tonight with two picks in the first round of the 2025 NHL draft, 11th and 12 overall.
Dubas acquired picks 22 and 31 as a result of that deal, but by the time they were on the clock at 22nd overall, Dubas decided to move down once again.
Instead of using the pick to select a player, he traded 22nd overall to the LA Kings in exchange for picks 31 and 59.
The Penguins then used the 24th pick in the draft to select forward Will Horcoff from the University of Michigan in the NCAA.
Horcoff scored 4 goals and 10 points in 18 games at the NCAA level this season, after a short stint with the USNDTP at the beginning of the season.
What makes him stand out though is his impressive frame, as the center stands at 6'5" 203 pounds according to Elite Prospects.
Penguins fans now have one more pick to look forward to tonight, unless Dubas decided to trade down for the third time when he comes on the clock for pick 31.
Be sure to tune in to see what Dubas does as he certainly is not done making moves at the draft tonight.
