Penguins fans outraged after mock trade involving Tristan Jarry to the Edmonton Oilers surfaces

This week, reports have surfaced indicating that the Edmonton Oilers are interested in acquiring Penguins veteran goalie Tristan Jarry.

With these rumors surfacing fans and analysts have sparked conversation about what a trade sending Jarry to Edmonton could look like.

This evening, Mathew Panchyshyn suggested a mock trade sending Jarry to the Edmonton Oilers potentially with breakout defenseman Parker Wotherspoon in a potential larger deal involving one of or both of Mattias Janmark and Darnell Nurse.

After this idea from Panchyshyn surfaced Penguins took to social media to share their disgust at the idea of the Penguins trading away Parker Wotherspoon.

In response to Wotherspoon's name being mentioned Penguins fans spoke out urging Kyle Dubas and the front office to keep the veteran defenseman.

Even when looking at the deeper analytics a trade involving Wotherspoon, Jarry, Janmark, and Nurse makes little to no sense for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Wotherspoon this season has played 22 games in the NHL and already tied his career high in points while being the perfect compliment to play alongside Erik Karlsson who is enjoying a career resurgence.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Oilers will land Tristan Jarry and what a deal could look like but it remains incredibly clear any deal involving Parker Wotherspoon would be a disappointment and utter failure by Kyle Dubas.
