Penguins Head Coach Dan Muse Opens Up About Pittsburgh's New Coaching Philosophy and Staff
Dan Muse is bringing a new philosophy to Pittsburgh, and now the brand new Head Coach has opened up on that and more in his latest interview.
The Pittsburgh Penguins moved on from Mike Sullivan after a decade, and with Dan Muse now taking over, he's looking to make his mark in Pittsburgh and set a new culture for the future.
Already, there's been clear signs that Muse is going to be a great leader for this team and the organization, and now he's opened up on one of the hiring philosophies that led to them getting the staff they now have.
"I knew that having a mix of experiences, backgrounds, some different ideas - and also bring in people that have some core philosophies that are similar and they're aligned, you want that."
That is something that Nick Bonino recently alluded too, with Muse expecting it to be a collaboration with their coaching staff, with all coaches expected to fill many roles as they look to come together to create something special.
As for Bonino, Muse also addressed the former Pittsburgh Penguins player joining the coaching staff, and unsurprisingly, he's happy about having Bonino on board as a first time coach.
"In some ways, it might be a little different... I don't know if they'll call him Coach Bonino. Coach Bones? The type of person he is, though, I think it's going to be a really easy transition."
Only time will tell if this is a good way to approach things or not for Muse, but he's got plenty of support in the organization, and now, it's about putting a good product on the ice and developing their young talent.
