Dan Muse has taken over as the Penguins Head Coach, and now he's made his intentions clear ahead of his first season behind the bench in the NHL.

The Pittsburgh Penguins made a surprise decision when they hired former New York Rangers assistant Dan Muse to be their next Head Coach, but from all reports, the organization is thrilled to have him be their newest bench boss.
After some delays, we finally heard from Muse on Wednesday, and unsurprisingly, he had some very exciting things to say about the future of the Penguins and how he factors into getting them where he wants to go.
In that press conference, Muse addressed many topics, including the idea of leading this team in the direction they want to go, and while he realizes that some players are veterans and others are just trying to make it in the league, he sent a message to the roster, stating that he's going to try and maximize each player in his time there.
"You have guys in different places in their careers. My job is going to be to help maximize each person and work toward what their highest level can be right now. It's going to be a day-to-day approach. It has to be... that's what I'm coming in here to do."
Given that the team boast veterans like Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin while also looking to build for the future, this is an incredibly tough job for a rookie Head Coach, but in his first comments, he's shown that he's up to the task.
This off-season will be very telling to see which direction this organization wants to go in moving forward, but with Muse behind the bench, it's clear he just wants to get the best out of those players that are going to turn up and do the work alongside him, and it's safe to say that fans should be more and more excited about the young coach.
