The Pittsburgh Penguins have made another addition to their coaching staff with the hiring of Evan McFeeters as their Roving Minor League Coach.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have already overhauled their coaching staff for this year, and they've now made another addition.
They have announced the hiring of Evan McFeeters as their new Roving Minor League Coach. He'll work with the team's development program and support Ryan Papaioannou's coaching staff with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers and Kirk McDonald's staff with the AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Why the Penguins Believe McFeeters Can Elevate Their Prospect Pipeline
Penguins assistant GM Jason Spezza, who works directly with GM Kyle Dubas, welcomed McFeeters to the organization with an official statement.
We are extremely excited to add Evan to the organization. Evan has a passion for development, and in his role, he will help increase cohesion between our AHL and ECHL coaching staffs, further emphasizing the importance of our four-tiered approach to development.
The Penguins clearly believe that McFeeters will have a far-reaching effect on the young players coming up within the organization.
From AJHL Championships to Pittsburgh: McFeeters' Coaching Journey
McFeeters has coaching experience at various levels, starting last year with the Prairie Hockey Academy's U18 Prep squad.
Additionally, he's worked with the Canmore Eagles, Brooks Bandits, and Sherwood Park Crusaders of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. While with the Eagles, he held the dual role of Assistant Coach and Assistant General Manager.
Internationally, he was an Assistant Coach for Canada West at the 2022 World Junior A Challenge.
