Pittsburgh Penguins electric anthem performance goes viral ahead of puck drop vs. the Senators

The Pittsburgh Penguins came into tonight’s contest against the Ottawa Senators needing to pick up a big two points.

The highly anticipated matchup began with an absolute high note as the game was about to kick off as a group of local musicians came together to perform an incredible instrumental version of the United States national anthem.

Unfortunately, from there things would go downhill for the Penguins once the game started as they were thoroughly outplayed by the Senators.

The night did start off good with yet another goal from Egor Chinakhov who has found new life in Pittsburgh after being traded by the Columbus Blue Jackets.

However, after that the Senators controlled much of the game scoring back to back goals and eventually winning the game 3-2.

Despite the close score the Penguins were dominated in the shot department being outshot 31-16 by the end of the game.

With the embarrassing loss, the Penguins still sit in second place in the Metropolitan Division but are only 2 points ahead of the New York Islanders and 4 points ahead of the Washington Capitals.

It will now be crucial that the Penguins do not let this loss snowball into a longer losing streak.

The Penguins won’t have to wait long for another opportunity as they will have a monumentally important game against the New York Islanders tomorrow night.
