The Penguins are enjoying their few days off in Sweden prior to facing the Predators, and a picture of them having a spa day has now gone viral online.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have shared a light-hearted piece of news as they prepare to face the Nashville Predators at the NHL Global Series, to be held at Stockholm's Avicii Arena, in Sweden.

What the photo is that has gone viral

The team has shared a team photo, including their captain, Sidney Crosby, enjoying a team spa day, all wearing Happi coats, which gave a glimpse into their spending quality time with each other away from the ice.

During the media session held before the games are set to begin, Crosby spoke of the fun involved in competing abroad and the passion with which fans follow the sport on the continent.
"I mean playing at world championships and getting to experience that," Crosby said about hockey in Europe." Obviously, it's a lot of pride for people's countries, but when you have the opportunity in this situation, I think people just appreciate the chance to see NHL games up close there's a lot of passion for the game, and that's uh that's really fun."

Why this Sweden trip couldn't have come at a better time

The Penguins have cooled down a bit since their hot 8-2-2 beginning to the 2025-26 season, losing four out of their last five outings, but still hold a 9-5-3 record and are sitting third in the Metropolitan Division.
They are paced by 11 goals and 20 points by Sidney Crosby, who has played 17 games, and 21 points by Evgeni Malkin, with their power play still leading the league at 35.7 percent, although their lack of focus on defence and between the pipes has allowed this recent slide to occur.
At the age of 38, Crosby shows no signs of packing up just yet, as he is determined to guide his team to the playoffs, having failed consecutively for three seasons now.
As the Penguins prepare to face off against the opposition, a relaxing holiday in Sweden will be just the ticket to turn their season around once again.
