The Penguins have landed in Sweden, and upon arrival have announced that fellow Swedish goalie Filip Larsson has joined them as the third stringer.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are officially in Stockholm, Sweden, to take part in the NHL Global Series. The team has made its arrival in Sweden official with one minor adjustment to the roster.

The Penguins have added a third-string goalie for the trip

Swedish goalie Filip Larsson has joined the Penguins as the team's third goalie as they travel overseas, with Tristan Jarry still recovering. This is more of an insurance policy in case anything happens to Arturs Silovs or Sergei Murashov.
The Penguins had an overnight flight from Pittsburgh that took about seven and a half hours to get to Stockholm. They immediately got to the ice after arrival to hold practices at the Avicii Arena training facility.
Each player had travel kits with blankets and pillows to ensure that the flight was comfortable, since the Penguins have two important games to play.
The Nashville Predators are no strangers to international travel since this marks the team's third venture overseas as the Predators get set to take on the Penguins on November 14 and November 16.
The team had previously ventured to Prague and Tokyo, and this year follows the 2024 event in Helsinki, featuring the Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars.

Why this Sweden trip is important for Erik Karlsson and Filip Forsberg

The Sweden stop provides a welcome return to homeland action for numerous players, such as Pittsburgh's Erik Karlsson and Nashville's Filip Forsberg. These are two of the most talented Swedish stars of the current era.
Karlsson has won the Norris Trophy an impressive three times and has scored 12 points so far in 17 games with the Penguins. Forsberg has scored 14 points this season with Nashville.
As fellow Swedes Rickard Rakell and Filip Hallander sit out the game with injuries, they will fill the bleachers to take in the hometown action.
It's a special week for hockey fans in Sweden, and it's definitely another chapter in the international history book for the Penguins.
