Tonight, Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Dan Muse has provided an update on an apparent injury suffered by defenseman Kris Letang.
Early in the season things have been going fairly well for the Pittsburgh Penguins and in particular the team's big three of Kris Letang,
Sidney Crosby, and
Evgeni Malkin.
Tonight, things have taken a turn for the worse as Kris Letang has reportedly suffered an injury.
Dan Muse Gives an Update on Injury Suffered By Kris Letang
Tonight, Letang mysteriously missed much of the third period but his absence went mostly unnoticed as he only missed the one period.
After the game, head coach Dan Muse was asked about the injury suffered by Letang and confirmed the veteran defenseman was being evaluated.
Beyond the fact that Letang is injured currently it remains unknown exactly what happened to cause the injury or how severe his prognosis might be.
This is a huge loss for the Penguins if Letang is out for any extended period of time, while the Penguins do have good depth in the AHL to call-up replacing Letang's offensive impact in the lineup is nearly impossible.
Over the next 24 hours any testing done and updates provided by Dan Muse and his staff will be crucial in determining a timeline for Letang's return to game action.
If Letang is out long-term this will place a lot of pressure on
Erik Karlsson to step up and carry a lot of the offensive burden on the back end going forward.
As more updates are given on Letang's status and health going forward we will pass those updates along to you.
