Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas has confirmed that the club has re-signed Philip Tomasino to a 1-year deal, which will be his 1st full year in Pittsburgh.
It's the official start of the NHL's free agency period, and multiple signings have already been made throughout the League.
The Pittsburgh Penguins
have joined the action and have brought back forward Philip Tomasino, confirming a 1-year contract for what will be his 1st full year with the club.
The deal was announced at the same time as Connor Dewar's 1-year extension. Tomasino's AAV (average annual value) will be $1.75 million.
The Penguins have signed Philip Tomasino and Connor Dewar to one-year contracts.
Both contracts run through the 2025.26 season, with Tomasino's contract carrying an AAV of $1.75 million and Dewar's contract carrying an AAV of $1.1 million.
Tomasino, who began his NHL career with the Nashville Predators, was traded to the Penguins this year in exchange for a 4th round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft.
Penguins GM Kyle Dubas
recently confirmed that the club wasn't planning on being overly aggressive in free agency.
The types of players you can expect are not dissimilar from last summer. I would be surprised - unless if they were (restricted free agents) or trades - that we would do long-range deals with players. But we've got a number of players in mind that I think we can give opportunity to. They won't be the one-year contracts. They'll maybe be two or three where we could see if they can be a long-term part of what we're trying to do here and be a part of when the team is back in contention.
In 209 career NHL games played with the Penguins and Predators, he has 94 points (34G, 60A).
