The Pittsburgh Penguins post-season hopes are over, but with some intriguing games down the stretch, they've revealed their lines for a three-game road trip.
This season has been a wild ride for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and while they play for nothing but pride down the stretch, there are plenty of things they can accomplish in the final few weeks of the season.
Now, their lines to start that road trip have been revealed, and while they look much the same as they have since the promotion of Rutger McGroarty and Ville Koivunen, there are some intriguing changes.
On the third pairing, we see Ryan Shea in the spot he's been since his return, despite being promoted to the first pairing before he was injured, with the team liking what they see from Conor Timmins who plays on the second pairing alongside veteran Erik Karlsson.
As for the recently promoted young duo, McGroarty continues skating alongside Sidney Crosby and Bryan Rust, with Koivunen and Connor Dewar skating alongside star forward Rickard Rakell on the second line in the continued absence of veteran Evgeni Malkin.
Overall, this isn't a Penguins team that could make a major push late in the season, as they have opted for plenty of young names that are ready to prove themselves down the stretch, and if they get some good performances, we could see some very intriguing names from this lineup in the team next season.
